Essay in a design not dissimilar to the issued design though with dates at top and country name at foot, handpainted in shades of violet with small portions highlighted in Chinese white, stamp-size and inset on cream card (118x160mm. with grey paper surround) marked "Accepted in this design but in two Colours" and with "waterlow & sons/limited/specimen" embossed handstamp at lower right corner, mounted in brown card folder (142x179mm.).
