Few parallels for this coin can be securely tied to an English context. Nevertheless one example was recovered from the famous Crondall (1828) Hoard, and further isolated discoveries have been found in proximity to the later 'Two Emperors', 'Pada' and 'Desaiona' varieties. Such relationship with these antipodean series is nothing short of remarkable, and as such it is tempting to pursue Metcalf's tentative attribution of these issues as 'possibly Anglo-Saxon'. A second coin of a similar type was recorded from the same site in April 2014 (cf. PAS LIN-0B3EEB).
