1943 (Nov.) pamphlet headed "secret", No. 687 and titled "Coastal Command Review, Vol. II, No.7", published by the "Headquarters, Coastal Guard Royal Air Force", initialled in pencil on the cover "C.O. / WD / RL(?)" by the commanding officer. The pamphlet contains detailed information on U-Boat attacks and sets out anti U-Boat strategies, with case studies including "Sinking off Coast of Portugal" and "Blockading the Straits of Gibraltar", "First Kill from the Azores", "Another Good Attack near Convoy ONS. 20", "Pitched Battles"; also black and white photographic illustrations (19) of which the majority are aerial including "Nassau in the Bahamas", photographs of a U-Boat at Trondheim and a further photograph of the base there, torpedo strikes on tankers and a 333 (Norwegian) Squadron Mosquito hit by cannon fire, three photographs of Lagens air field, shipbuilding yards at Kiel among others; also a brief explanation of radar. An interesting document with some usual tears to some pages.
