1749 Exemplification of Common Recovery on vellum bearing large portrait of George II regarding transfer of "Nine Messuagess Sixteen Gardens fourteen acres of Land Eight acres of Meadow five acres of pasture and three acres of wood ... in Oxted, Croydon, and Godstone" from Anthony Benn. Signed "Borrett" with seal attached in tin skippet. Bearing also a pair of 5/- general duty revenue stamps. Included with 1707 (18 September) indenture for the lease of land in Longhoughton, Northumberland to Edward Adams for 21 years with a rent of £5 and a fine of £20. Signed by the Duke and Duchess of Somerset and with clear wax seals and further signed "Geo: Thornton". Witnessed and signed on reverse by "Wm. Coles" and "Geo: Thornton". Rather soiled.
