REX, fifth 'Aberystwyth' crowned, draped and cuirassed bust left, falling lace collar, value behind, rev. CVLTORES • SVI • DEVS • PROTEGIT (m.m.), crowned oval garnished shield, dividing crowned C-R, beaded inner circles both sides, 2.23g [34.5grns], 8h, m.m. anchor [straight flukes to right / upright] (HCN 271; Brooker 227-228 same obverse die; Schneider II, 266 same dies; North 2188; Spink 2717), irregular flan, otherwise pleasantly toned with flares of lustre in recesses, a pleasingly good very fine, scarce in this condition, in NGC 'Horace Hird' holder, graded AU58 (Cert. #6135299-023)
