IACOBVS D : G : MAG : BRI : FR : ET HI : REX, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, value behind, rev. HENRIC • ROSAS • REGNA (m.m.) • IACO? crowned square-topped shield over cross fourchée, beaded inner circles both sides, 2.27g [35.0grns], 6h, m.m. trefoil (HCN 229; Lingford 1128a; Schneider II, - [cf. 99-100]; North 2119; Spink 2642B), a delightful example of this common coin, however seldom encountered so uniformly struck, further accentuated with lustre in recesses, toned, almost extremely fine / good very fine, in NGC 'Horace Hird' holder, graded AU58 (Cert. #6135299-020)
