A Lost Parcel from the Celebrated Horace Hird Collection
Dr Carter, collection purchased en bloc by Baldwin, 1950
This highly appealing 'presentation' striking is, like the last, the product of the talented Anthony, but its raison d'etre is undoubtedly the result of the agitations of Richard Martin. The care and exactitude taken over the neatness of the flan, and balance of the strike also mark it out as a hidden gem of the Hird cabinet, and a clear outlier compared to the similarly remarkable currency issue seen before.
