1856 (2 Jan.) envelope to Ireland "per the Red Jacket" bearing imperf. Diadem 6d. slate-grey and 1856 (6d.) vermilion and Prussian blue registered stamp cancelled by part strikes of numeral postmark, a good strike of unframed "registered/bathurst" in black with handstruck "d6" which is overstruck by a faint strike of handstruck "5" in red, with manuscript registration numbers; an array of backstamps with two strikes of Bathurst "JA 2" c.d.s., Liverpool "australian/packet", Eniskillen c.d.s. (11.4) and two strikes of straight-line "bundoran" in blue. The adhesives with good margins, the cover is wrinkled and soiled, there is a light oil mark on the front (which could be removed) and a fragment of the flap missing where the wax seal has been removed


A highly important cover being the earliest recorded use of a NSW registered stamp, being used on the second day of issue
