1849 (9 June) long blue entire letter to Glasgow "Per Second Ship" bearing a good strike of "registered/ Sydney" in red (type 1), "ship letter paid/sydney" oval datestamp, plus good strikes of straight-line "ship letter" and large crown/"registered" in the same shade of red, there is a rate mark of "1/2" plus another (a large and indeterminate number) which has been crossed through, the reverse with boxed Glasgow arrival datestamp (27.10). There is a vertical filing crease which does not detract from the unusual and interesting cover

Pays postage 3d. and local registration 6d., the 1/2d. rate is postage 8d. plus registration 6d.. With only one U.K. datestamp, the crowned registered mark is probably from Glasgow
