Stars, 1855-57 4d. rose and 1/- green tied by Newcastle-on-Tyne "545" sideways duplex, marked with a very bold "Registered" across the left corner with fine strikes of the second type open oval "registered/g.p.o." code "M" in red and the thin crowned "registered" with sans-serif letters (W&J 1133) an early date for this, "P" in circle, "england per aachen" and boxed "Recomandirt", all struck in red; there is a small examiner's handstamp on the reverse.
