1848 (10 Aug.) envelope registered to Paris bearing fourteen 1841 1d. red-brown (one further stamp has fallen off from the side of the flap) tied by the "466" numeral, the front had been marked "Registered" and "6" in magenta ink (to indicate the registration rate), "liverpool/paid" open-circle despatch c.d.s. in red, wide crowned "registered" struck in red (W&J 1131a), "P-D" in oval and Boulogne transit (17.8); wax seals on the reverse and one of the adhesives is affixed over the edge of the cover and there is a filing hole through the envelope.
