1839 (18 Nov.) entire letter from Wetmore in Canton to Morrison, Cryder & Co in London and sent by the "Cordelia", rated "1/4" and with boxed "india letter/liverpool", the reverse with London arrival c.d.s. (16.5); there is a light horizontal filing fold. The letter gives details of a shipment of gunpowder tea..


The 'Cordelia' is listed as one of the vessels stationed at Tongkoo Bay on 16th November. This letter is believed to be the earliest sent from or via Tongkoo Bay (according to Lee. C. Scamp)

1839年11月18日從廣州的Wetmore 經由輪船 "Cordelia" 携往倫敦的Morrison, Cryder & Co. 費用為"1/4", 函上有長框型"India Letter/ Liverpool" 戳記, 信函背面蓋5月16日的倫敦到達日戳; 有摺痕. 信內容為我們提供了一批中國珠茶的詳細信息…, "Cordelia" 號亦為11月16日停泊於銅鼓灣的船隻之一. 這封信被認為是最早由銅鼓灣或通過銅鼓灣發出的信件(據 Lee. C. Scamp 稱)
