Fuertado, Chief Clerk in the Provost Marshall General's Office in Spanish Town, bearing 2d. rose quadrisected, cancelled "A53" and with large part arrival datestamp (26.2) at right, small part despatch datestamp on reverse. An exceptionally rare unofficial bisect franking. Photo

Note: Feurtado received returns and letters from the Deputy Marshalls all over the island. Only bisected 1d. adhesives were authorised for the Book Post ½ oz. rate, other denominations however bisected should have been treated as unpaid
