1845 (16 July) entire letter, headed "Springfield Illinois", to New York, redirected via Jamaica, N.Y. to Mount Vernon, "Missent & Forwarded" to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and then redirected back to Ohio through Baltimore, rated 12c. postage and 1/- Jamaica postage, showing New York (4.8), Jamaica N.Y. (6.8), Montego Bay (17.9) and Baltimore (28.10) datestamps, "ship" handstamp, and "Montego Bay/ship letter" SL8 handstamp, Montego Bay datestamp (20.9) on reverse; full of character. SL2 with less than a dozen examples recorded. Photo
