1801 (20 Jan.) entire letter, headed "Shapton Jamaica", "p Caroline Packet" to St. Albans, rated "Inld Postg 1/3" for inland postage plus 1/- Packet rate to UK and 8d. UK inland postage, a total of "1/8" and showing, on reverse, "robins/river" and with very fine "jamaica/29 jan 1801" J5 datestamp and arrival datestamp (25.3); the latest recorded usage of this short-lived handstamp which was only in use for some four months.
