1795 (20 Dec.) entire letter from "Greenwall St. David" "p packet" to London, rated "3/-" and with indistinct marking on face, the reverse with fine "iamaica" handstamp and London arrival datestamp (20.2); contents include "The situation of this island at the present form the Rebellion of the Maroons and labouring under the most distressing circumstances of Martial Law, whereby we are obliged to become soldiers and thereby deprived of the power of attending to other concerns at the matter that is requisite"
