1882 (19 Jan.) envelope from Middleburg to Berlin, bearing 1878 3d. pairs (2) and a single bisected diagonally, all cancelled by "12" in concentric rings, showing "2½d" accountancy h.s. in red tying the bisect and, on reverse, despatch, Pretoria (20.1), Cape Town (31.1) and arrival (25.2) datestamps. A fine example of the 1/1½d. rate to Europe. Photo
