1886 (9 Sept.) envelope to Pretoria, bearing 2d. ("30 aug 86") on granite paper without embossed arms tied by oval "vryheid/nieuwe republiek" datestamp in black, in combination with Transvaal 1885 2d. brown-purple tied by "11" in concentric circles and showing, on reverse, Utrecht (10.9) and arrival (17.9) datestamps; the envelope with small piece missing at right and the New Republic 2d. with 5mm. closed tear.
