Numbers in Maltese Cross: 1843 (5 April), entire letter, ex the Horrockes Miller correspondence to Preston, franked 1d. GC-GF horizontal strip of four (all cut vertically but still attached at top), cancelled by four fabulous strikes of the number "2" in Maltese Cross, dated markings on the reverse. Fine. Believed to be the largest strip of number "2" in Cross recorded on cover. The finest known number in Cross cover on the 1d. red issue known.
