SH good to large margins, tied by magenta Maltese Cross and "Poulton Penny Post" to entire letter, dated 4 Jan. 1841, to Lytham; clean vertical filing fold well clear of the adhesive but through the Penny Post marking; fine and a very rare entire letter. Poulton was the receiving office for the Preston Penny Post. Rockoff and Jackson record the magenta Cross in use between 12 Dec. 1840 and 19 Feb. With M. Jackson Certificate (2021). Photo
