A group of Plate Ib examples used on entire letters and envelopes (4) comprising three from the same correspondence to Robert Brown Esq. of Hamilton: DF, three good margins and one close, tied by orange-red Maltese Cross on entire letter of 23rd July 1841; HB, showing re-entry in 'H' square, value tablet and lower margin, four clear to good margins, with complete red Maltese Cross (not tied) on entire letter of 3rd July 1840; PG, four clear margins, tied by orange-red Maltese Cross to entire letter of 15th January 1841; also RK, letter re-cut, tied to tatty envelope to Wales dates 9th August 1840 (Sunday usage); a useful group, some minor faults such as staining
