1839 Treasury Competition, four Charles Whiting essays, one piece showing two designs for 1d. on cream paper in colourless relief (light bends but very clear relief), another shows a larger design in blue with initials 'VR' (horizontal crease) and lastly an embossed essay in black without 'paid', for stamping paper (light blemish).
