RSC "E", Scarlet and (deep bright) blue, Mid Gash printing
[18-24] block of four, variant, scarlet and (paler and brighter) chalky blue, outstanding rich colours and perfect centering, large part original gum with the lower pair remaining unmounted. A great rarity and a beautiful and outstanding multiple. An astonishing new discovery, hitherto unrecorded. The only recorded mint block of four from all these later printings. Photo

Note: The more richly hued later printings of the 7/6d. emanate from the Mid Gash Plate (RSC "D" and "E") and the Short Gash Plate (S.G. 162, RSC "F" and "G")
