Unplated, showing the startling head plate colour associated with this printing, large part original gum; very fine mint with no more than eight to ten examples that are certifiable. Photo

Note: It is suggested that this shade arose due to some crimson ink getting into the black during the head plate run for a very limited time. At the 2nd. paper wetting for the frames the ink ran but only at the areas of heaviest inking like the King's tunic, heaviest shading above shoulders, etc.. Simultaneously the lovely purple backs, which vary in intensity, were created. This variety was noticed at the time of its issue and catalogued by 1921 or sooner
