The following group of nine lots offer what is unquestionably the greatest collection of the "Vermilion" printings ever put together. The Vermilion family comprises RSC "C", "D", "E" and "F", all of which are represented in this one auction

RSC "C", Scarlet-vermilion and maroon, Thick Ear printing
[3-9] block of four, [4] Queen's cheek flaw and [8] with printer's mark at lower left, large part original gum with the lower pair sharing only a small hinge mark; a couple of shortish perfs., [4] and [8] with a couple of small tones. The sole recorded block of this printing. A great rarity. Photo
