1798 (23 Mar.) entire letter from St. Thomas to London, "per packet", rated "1/8" and bears a good strike of the straight-line "tortola" type 2 postmark showing the very large or distorted "T" and there is a strike of the London arrival struck over the flap join. Sent by RMSP packet to Falmouth. There is a vertical folding crease and some internal paper splitting, nevertheless and very good example of this very scarce marking of which it is thought that only 7 examples have been recorded.
