Letter with interesting contents relating to the storming of the 'Jong' during the Battle of Gyantse: 'Yesterday we assaulted and took the old Jong which has for so long been menacing us, and now the Union Jack is flying from its topmost tower. How we escaped, Lord knows, as the bullets were kicking up the dust all around us". A dramatic letter. Envelope with some age related wear and tear.
