Covers and Cancellations
1917 (17 Dec.) 5m. red postal stationery envelope to Cairo cancelled by 'dilling' c.d.s., triangular censor marking to face (number illegible as are all of the few known censored covers from this campaign), countersigned at lower left; a scarce cover from the Nyima Patrol

Note: The Dilling Post Office was opened in June 1917 specifically to handle mail of personnel associated with the Nyima Patrol. It closed in March 1918 following the capture of Chief Agabna and his 200 followers who had been raiding Kasha in the Nyima Hills.
