1840-41 entire letters (3) ex the Guthrie correspondence, the first a Consignee's letter from London via Cape of Good Hope with despatch datestamp, one from Glasgow "p Overland Mail" with despatch and London datestamps, and one from Mauritius forwarded to Calcutta and showing fine "kedgeree./post office/ship letter" handstamp alongside Calcutta Ship Letter Bearing datestamp, the contents requesting Guthrie to recruit 100 Chinese labourers for the Mauritius plantations as the Indian Government has banned the use of India labour, and seven others (a few small faults) with six showing Calcutta G.P.O. Ship Letter datestamps
