1837 (5 Jan.) entire letter to London, marked "Via Singapore", rated "1/3" and showing, on reverse, fair to fine framed "pinang/post office" datestamp in red, step-type "ship letter/plymouth" applied in error and cancelled by red "Crutched Cross", framed "india letter/plymouth" and arrival c.d.s. (26.6), both in red and partly struck over the Pinang datestamp. A fine example of this short-lived marking, in use from April 1836 to June 1837. Photo
