1864 (Sept.) unstamped envelope from Singapore "Voie Anglaise Suez" to Dijon, franked by the writer with French Empire "Eagle" 10c. bistre strip of six and a single, cut-into in places, which were ignored by the Singapore Post Office and the envelope struck with a Singapore P.O. datestamp in black as unpaid, "9" postage due handstamp and "poss. ang. v. suez/a marseilles" datestamp, upon arrival the adhesives each cancelled with Dijon datestamp (25.10) and with a further arrival datestamp on reverse. A very rare and most unusual franking carried on the Orissa from Singapore for Galle then to Suez on the Mooltan and from Alexandria to Marseilles on the Baroda. Photo
