CJ in a deeper shade, good to very large margins showing a fragment of the design below, well tied by a fair strike of a dull red Maltese Cross on wrapper to Edinburgh, the reverse with Glasgow despatch 1840 (18 Dec.), Edinburgh arrival for the next day and a part strike of a boxed examiner's handstamp, all in red. The stamps clearly shows the scratches in the bottom and top margins as well as the N.E. square. There is some arrival annotation on the address side. A good cover. Photo
