British India, Edward VII (1901-1910), Proof Half-Rupee, 1905 C, Calcutta, bare head right, rev. crowned value flanked by flowers, edge straight milled, 5.79g, 12h (cf. Pridmore 309; KM 507; SW. 7.57; Fore 550), a magnificent original (?) striking with electrifying petrol-blue tone overlying near flawless glass-like fields, the reverse further accentuated by orange-brown peripheral hues, good extremely fine, rare, especially with such phenomenal eye appeal
