Anne (1702-1714), Pre-Union, Crown, 1705 QVINTO, diademed and draped bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, plumes in angles, edge lettered downwards, 30.00g, 7h (Bull 1341; ESC 100; Hopetown House 350; Pywell-Phillips 211; Spink 3577), a carbon stain behind ties, a trace of rub to highest points and two small marks on breast, otherwise a marvellous example of this key date rarity, evidently early in the journey of the dies with her hairline and eyebrows especially proud, handsome dark cabinet toning accentuated by hints of iridescence and playful cartwheel lustre, good extremely fine, very rare, especially in this condition
