James I (1603-1625), Second Coinage, Double-Crown, 1605-1606, third crowned and cuirassed bust right, rev. crowned square-topped shield dividing I-R, 4.86g, 3h, m.m. rose (North 2086; Spink 2621), bright but lustrous with a small die flaw to face, and hints of cabinet friction, otherwise a remarkably bold portrait, pleasingly uniform, almost extremely fine for issue, rare thus
