James II (1685-1688), Crown, 1687 TERTIO, second laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, six strings to harp, angles plain, 30.11g, 7h (Bull 743; ESC 78; Miller 27; Spink 3407), brighter, lustrous surfaces with adjustment to French shield and corresponding hairline on obverse, otherwise a sharply struck up example of this short-lived coinage, a pleasingly bold extremely fine, rare thus
