The Abramson Collection of English Coins | Charles I (1625-1649), Civil War Issues, Oxford Half-Pound, 1642, 'Declaration' type, Shrewsbury horseman, small plume behind, rev. Declaration in two lines, 'Oxford' plumes and value above with bands, date below, 59.50g, 7h, i.m. plume (Morrieson A-2; Brooker 866-68 same dies; North 2404; Spink 2945), edge nick at 6 o'clock and other minor flaws to reverse twinned with traces of doubling to obverse legend, otherwise handsomely cabinet toned, about very fine, forever sought after as one of the most iconic issues of English numismatics
