Charles I (1625-1649), Briot's Second Milled Issue, Shilling, 1637-1642, crowned bust left, with falling lace collar, value behind, rev. square-topped shield over cross moline, 6.03g, 7h, m.m. anchor [rounded flukes to right] (Brooker 728 same dies; North 2305; Spink 2859), usual adjustment marks across portrait, otherwise attractively toned with underlying lustre, very fine, the reverse better still and with a solid pedigree
