CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO • (m.m.) •, oval garnished shield, dividing CR, 5.93g, 9h, m.m. portcullis (Hawkins 3¹; Sharp D4/1; cf. Brooker 483 [for bust]; North 2223; Spink 2789), fields lightly tooled and smoothed with a defective strike obscuring the first quarter of the shield, otherwise handsomely toned with a remarkable surviving visage of Charles I, very fine or better, rare thus
