Charles I (1625-1649), Group 2, Halfcrown, 1633-1634, Type 2c, Tower (under King), reads MAG BR FR ET HI, King on horseback left, plume on head dress, no ground line, stops flank m.m., rev. no stops except by (m.m.) • CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO •, round garnished shield, dividing C-R, 12.98g, 7h, m.m. portcullis (Bull 197ff; Hawkins 2c; Francis 2c; Brooker 316; North 2207; Spink 2771), rough and waterworn surfaces on account of it being a reported river find, otherwise bolder fine details

Reportedly found on the bed of River Thames [acquired August, 1984]
Given the proximity of the reported findspot to Blackfriars Bridge, it is conceivable that this coin is an earlier stray from the famous Commonwealth hoard of some 1,500 coins recovered there and sold in London, in October 1997.
