(x) Anglo-Saxon England, Primary Phase (c. 680-710), Series BIIIA3, Sceat, Type 27a, double diademed bust right, rev. linear bird atop cross, flanked by annulets, trefoil piles at base and before neck, 0.97g, 7h (BMC Type 26; Abramson 72; North 126; Spink 777A), an outstanding example, with lustrous original surfaces accentuated by toning in recesses, much as struck, very rare in this condition
