Anglo-Saxon England, Post-Crondall Types (c. 655-675), Pale Gold Shilling, 'Two Emperors' type, in the style of a 4th Century Solidus, cuirassed bust right, with wearing concentric arc diadem, cross-on-step before, blundered legend surrounds, rev. Victory spreading wings over two seated emperors, 1.22g, 35 (SCBI 69 [Abramson], 13; A&W xxvii; North 20; Spink 767), of a pale electrum fabric, with a minor scuff across face, the obverse marginally offstruck, otherwise a superb example, the central devices particularly sharp and uniform, almost extremely fine and very rare, especially in this condition
