AU55 | Charles II (1660-1685), Five-Guineas, 1683 TRICESIMO QVINTO, second laureate bust right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, six strings to Irish harp, edge lettered upwards, 6h (MCE 27; Schneider II, -; EGC 199; Spink 3331), heavier metal flawing to edge and brighter lustrous surfaces, impressively struck up for this notoriously 'soft' issue, a pleasingly bold very fine, the variety not featured in the famous King collection, rare thus, in NGC holder, graded AU55 (Cert. #6135246-004)
