NRIS •, square-topped shield over cross fourchée with heart-shaped terminals, heraldic devices in angles, 13.55g, 1h, m.m. Tower (over mullet over coronet on obv. only) (Lockett 4400, same dies; Stewartby [BNJ, 2001], pp. 87-90, dies Cj; Schneider II, 10 same dies; North 2079; Spink 2613), some flatness in legends at 12 o'clock and on central devices, otherwise uniformly round and a solid representative from a remarkably underappreciated type within the largest issues of the entire English Hammered gold series, almost very fine and very rare, only six noted by Stewartby, in NGC holder, graded XF45 (Cert. #5878683-001) [*Top Pop*]
