MS62 | Edward III (1327-1377), Treaty Period, Noble, 1361-1369, Tower, ED | WARD DEI GRA REX ANGL DNS HYB Z AQ | T, annulet before EDWARD, saltire and double saltire stops, King standing, facing with sword and shield in ship, ropes 3/2, quatrefoils 4/4, rev. + IH'C AVTEM TRANCIENS PER MEDIV ILLORVM IBAT, double saltire stops, floriate cross, E at centre, trefoil at corners, crowned leopards in angles, trefoils in spandrels, 7.65g, 8h, i.m. cross pattée (Potter 2b; Stewartby [B2], III, 911 this coin; Schneider I, 86; North 1232; Spink 1503), some minor scratches in first quarter of reverse where removing surface deposits, and trace doubling in legend, otherwise a handsomely uniform strike of this iconic issue from Medieval England, good very fine, in NGC holder, graded MS62 (Cert. #6135246-001)
