Bachelor presumably served with the Royal Artillery on his National Service and thence joined the Observer Corps, serving with No. 3 Group for both awards; sold together with named boxes of issue for the Medal & clasp, besides unofficial General Service Cross, the reverse engraved '22792781 J. W. Bachelor. R.A.'
