1939-45 Star; Africa Star; War Medal 1939-45, all officially impressed '5329371 Cook Bhagsing Ale, 4 G.R.', very fine (3)

Bhagsing Ale was taken a Prisoner of War following the near annihilation of the 2nd Battalion, 4th (Prince of Wales's Own) Gurkha Rifles at the Battle of the Cauldron in the Western Desert prior to the fall of Tobruk in May/June 1942. He was held at Stalag 4D/Z at Annaburg, Saxony Anhalt (PoW No. 8216). The number on his Medals is his Army number post-Indian Independence; sold together with copied Prisoner of War roll.
