Charles William Thalman Biccard enlisted at Roberts Heights as a Corporal on 10 April 1917. He served in Dar-es-Salaam, German East Africa, performing clerical duties and was promoted Staff-Sergeant on 15 October 1917. Biccard later received a 'mention' covering the period after 1 August 1918 (London Gazette 5 June 1919). He was discharged on 15 July 1918 and noted as temporarily unfit for tropical service due to Malaria; sold together with copied research including service and attestation records.
