Cecil Willie Wymer was born in Aylsham, Norfolk in 1891. He enlisted with the Yorkshire Regiment and later transfered to the 1st Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment. It was with this formation that he won his Military Medal, later returning to the Yorkshire Regiment. He died in Norfolk in 1969.
