Panja Ghirt almost certainly became a Prisoner of War at the Fall of Singapore.

Kesar served with the 3rd Battalion, 3rd (Queen Alexandra's Own) Gurkha Rifles, a wartime raised Battalion, served in Java in the Dutch East Indies from 1945-46. This was the last campaign Medal awarded to Britain's Indian Army.
